about olivia
Originally from Memphis, TN, Olivia (they/them) is a queer Mexican-American theatre artist focusing on musical theatre and puppetry.
Olivia first fell into puppetry in 2021 after being cast as Coral, a sweet and sassy purple puppet in The Smack Dab Show, an SEL based musical talk-show for young audiences. This newfound love of puppetry eventually led Olivia to their Off Broadway debut in Rockefeller Production’s Eric Carle Story Show (2023), followed by Rockefeller’s 10th Anniversary production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show (2024) and perhaps most excitingly, Sesame Street: The Musical at what was then and should always be known as The Kennedy Center (2025). Most recently, Olivia had the absolute privilege of originating the role of Anita Franco in the highly regarded, highly subversive Off Broadway musical Slam Frank. Other highlights include performing in developmental/experimental musicals and puppet theatre at Ars Nova, La MaMa ETC, and HERE Arts Center.
When Olivia is not rehearsing, they are likely spending time with friends, saying “STOP THAT” to their cat Guillermo, or scouring thrift stores for some cool vintage finds. (Or napping. Probably definitely napping.)
